Difference between capacitive touch and infrared touch SCREEN for info. kiosk/interactive kiosks:
When client choose digital signage, lcd kiosks with touch, can consider if IR touch will be suitable for them or Capacitive touch screen suitatle for them.
Normally for lcd screen size less than 32inch, we suggest client to use capacitive touch screen.
If for screen size bigger than 32inch, if client want to save cost, we suggest clients can choose Infrared touch.
So some special projects, can ask for 30points, 40points, or 50points.

Capacitive touch:also called electrostatic touch screen,react by current sense of human body. It‘s one kind of 4 layers composite glass screen, the inner surface of the glass panel and the layers are coated with a layer of ITO, the outermost layer is a thin layer of silica glass protection layer, tnterlayer ITO coating as working face,four electrodes on four corners, the inner ITO is a shield to ensure good working environment.When the fingers touch the metal layer, due to human electric field, the user and touch screen surface is formed with a coupling capacitor,for high frequency current, capacitance is a direct conductor,so the fingers take away from the contact point of a small current. The current flows out of the electrodes on the four corners of the touch screen seperately, and the current flowing through the four electrodes is proportional to the distance from the fingers to the four,the controller accurately calculates the ratio of the four currents,draw the location of the touch point. |
